Too-remote-to-be-descended-from is a transitive relationship.

Well I most anthropologists don’t believe that we are descended from Neanderthals either, but they certainly are very close cousins.

That’s the part of it that doesn’t compute. If you wanted to go on claiming we descended from ANY hominids, you’d have to produce some new hominid, closer to us in both time and morphology THAN the Neanderthal, and the works and remains of that creature would be all over the map and very easy to find had he ever existed. In real life, he never existed, we are not descended from anything resembling any hominid or ape, and the theory of evolution is a bunch of bullshit.
