DWTS Season 11 enters its eighth week of competition tonight (Nov 8) and thus, the Bristol Palin enigma continues.
'Bristol the Pistol' has taken aim & shot down better qualified & much more fiercely talented candidates in her quiet wake to win the coveted mirror ball trophy.
But the burning question remains: how does Palin continue to linger on the competition & stir the ire of many DWTS fans who view the show as a talent (not popularity) contest?
While continually scoring at or near the bottom of the Judge's leader board since the onset of Season 11, Palin has somehow beat out competitors who have outscored and outperformed her, i.e., Florence Henderson, Rick Fox, and even Mike The Situation Sorrentino who exited the show at Week 4.
But what is really at the crux of the Bristol Palin matter is not the fact that Palin continues to receive enough votes to stay on DWTS. That part is evident.
The real question is why & where those votes come from. That is, are those votes generated by Sarah Palin supporters, or are they cast because people really like Bristol?
Hopefully, it's because people truly like 'Alaska's Favorite Daughter', find her refreshing and just want to see her win because of who she is.

Testing. I’ve gotten rid of it once or twice before, but for some reason it pops up out of nowhere. I need a good tag line.
My daughter refuses to watch the show because she abhors the judges. Bruno seems a little chastened since his ..? What did he do again? I can’t remember. He really dissed someone last season.
But Carrie Ann. I agree that she is absolutely the most annoying diva ever!!!!!!!!!!!11
He was complaining like the Professional Dancers do not get respect teaching the newbies.
I think he is nuts.
I really hope that Brandy wins, it means everything to her, like she has nothing else in her life. Someone should tell Maks to STFU until the final show is in the can, and quit being a horse's patoot when you are supposed to be a professional.
Yey! Thank you Dr. I’ll be looking for a good tag.
The reason that Jennifer and Derek’s dance echoed Fred A. was because of DEREK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
$100,000/week. Correct?
Way to go, this is so much fun, and a relief after the long and vicious campaign.
I agree that Brandy is the best dancer. She is better than Jennifer the whiner.
Was it Bruno or Len who was so rude to Michael Bolton?
We’ve had a cold spell, some scattered frost Saturday night. Lows in the low 30s. Beautiful 70 this afternoon. I’m just west of Gainesville.
I got one too
I hear you.
Each star makes an initial $125,000 for signing and rehearsing 3 weeks before the premiere and competing in the first two episodes, even if the cast member is cut after the first dance.
The breakdown for the remaining weeks is $10,000 an episode for Weeks 3 and 4, $20,000 an episode for Weeks 5 and 6, $30,000 an episode for Weeks 7 and 8, and $50,000 an episode for the final two weeks.
Oh, now I remember. It was Bruno..and like Jennifer, Michael almost cried. :-)
Does anyone have comments on the fight between Carrie Ann and Max tonight?
It went up to 48 today here in PA, but it was rainy and damp...
I got out my scarf and gloves.
I guess he feels unappreciated. The problem for Brandy is that people might not vote for her because of him.
How was the Apple crop up there? NY Apples were a bit puny this Year.
You’re welcome!
Oh, here’s the Maks/Carrie Ann comments.
I agree that he should have put a lid on it cuz it will hurt Brandy.
I think Brandy will win: sure hope it isn’t The Crier.
Like Bristol, Brandy had a baby when she was very young at about 19. She’s in the audience cheering her mother on every week.
Okay, I’ve voted and voted. The ABC.com voting is so simple. Make up an email and vote. I feel like a Democrat on election day.
