There is nothing liberal about the desire to protect kids from abuse.
It is commies who send their kids to war. It is liberals who abort their children. It is Libertarians who advocate for legal drug abuse by parents of dependent children. It is Spartan socialists who treated kids like little machines.
It is conservatives who protect kids. From abuse, from drugs, from crime, from abortion, from neglect, from sweatshops, from crappy socialized health care, from future-destroying economic policies.
We do not protect kids from hard work, honest competition, or failure. But we don’t kick them to the curb, either.
