I have heard that most of you do not like Mike Huckabee. Some of the reasons I have never heard of and i will research them. Regardless of how you feel about Mike Huckabee what do you think of the fair tax? go to FairTax.org if you've never heard of it, but given the group of people on this website I'm sure nearly all have.

The only problem I see with a Fair Tax is you never hear a politician talk about it. Why?

I’ve heard of it the Fair Tax. I believe we should have a flat rate income tax of 10% no deductions and everybody pays no exceptions period! Not Corp Tax but a payroll income tax!!!! Businesses pays nothing and Corp Pay nothing. But employees pay the tax including the CEO’s and owners!

Well Huckabee talks about it, but most here do not like him. However if you go to FairTax.org you will see the names of 66 elected representatives in the House and Senate who support it. Some democrats have used a republicans support of the Fair Tax against them saying they support a 23% NST. Which of course is not true, but the Dems don not concern themselves with truth.

Pointless unless you repeal the 16th amendment. Don't give the pigs in Washington a consumption tax when they already have an income tax.

The Huckster is another Arkansas Yokum. He is close akin to MoonBeam McSwine(Hillary) and Senator Jack S. Phogbound aka Slick Willy.

Same agenda, smoke, mirrors, snake oil, and the pure gall to assure us that they have all our best interests at heart.

The poser slimebag is just waiting to help put 0bummer back in the White House.

Fair tax my behind.

Fair Tax doesn't mean much to me as does the fees, penalties, and the many other form of taxation that rip Americans off. We have been placed in a box and probably pay more in these hidden form of taxes than almost as much as the income tax we pay. Thousands of fees are inflicted on business that pass them along. Sales taxes are hideous. Nothing will change this form of taxation and will probably go up if the Fair Tax is implemented.

Fair Tax is yet another tax COLLECTION scheme. There are others, and everyone of them does NOT address the current problem which is spending.

As long as Congress continues to have the Constitutional ability to borrow money without restrictions, then any tax collection method will work because the balance of what is not collected will be borrowed.

I can support the fair tax as long as it comes with a constitutional amendment repealing the income tax.

Right now here in MS, my Blue Dog is running ads against the Pubbie stating the Pubbie wants a 23% sales tax. That is the FairTax the Pubbie wants, but is hard to defend in a ad.

Yep. It doesn’t mean much if they continue spending like drunken sailors.

I love the idea of a consumption based Fair Tax provided a) it replaces the IRS tax and b) an iron clad paygo law is put in place requiring that any new spending be offset by cuts elsewhere or increase in the Fair sales tax. The reason I like the Fair national sales Tax is that any new spending dems try to put in place will immediately effect the middle class because sales taxes will go up. People tend to stop voting themselves tribute if they see a direct link to their pocketbooks. That is why dems hate the idea of a Fair Tax. The other reason I like it is that it does not tax production in the US. If business is alleviated of heavy tax burdens, UD business will become more competitive globally and job growth in the US will swell. Many jobs will return to the US.

Just because you do not like Huckabee does not make the Fair Tax bad. I mean compare a cosumption tax to the current tax system, many economist agree it will help

The Fair Tax is great idea which stands only slightly better than a zero chance of being implemented.
Imagine a country where the government has no business knowing what you own, what you spend, or how much you earn. All they need is a valid address to which to send the Prebate checks.
That’s the Fair Tax.

I’ve heard it said that 10% Flat Tax would be more than the government could spend.
