For a lot less money you could buy a variety of other hybrids that get almost as much “real mileage”, have a lot more interior space and aren’t made by Government Motors. The Chevy Volt is destined to be a huge flop.

“The Chevy Volt is destined to be a huge flop.”

It’ll be the mandated vehicle for every government agency if we don’t buy it. It may become the only vehicle a fed agency can buy no matter if we buy it or not!

Like getting eleven Susan B Anthony coins for change at the Post Office.

Yeah in fact on an earlier thread several of us did a comparison and we found by buying one of the high mileage cars (40 MPG plus) and you could end up buying at less than half the price of the Volt and have enough money to buy gas at almost double today's price for 8 or more years.

But many here on FR still told us we didn't understand because "the Volt was different."

Now we find out that the Volt isn't different (We knew that back then) its just another progressive pipe dream!
