Yeah - if you search around on the net you will find it, the other players confirmed it. The session players they used are fantastic. Steve Gadd supposedly read the chart, put on the headphones, played the track and was done in one take. I can think of a dozen great drummers but this track is one of the best.
I doubt anyone on a Steeley Dan track did anything in one take.
