Honest reporting would say it was a free concert for students featuring The National and Ben Harper with a prepared speech by Obama as part of the deal.

And he cannot muster a large crowd.

My best guess is that there were 12,500 in Library mall, with an additional 4-6 thousand total flanking it on Bascom and on State Street.

I was on Bascom Hill.

Exactly. Madison is the only place in the state that would welcome him.

Here in Texas, Austin has a slogan: “keep it weird.”
Madison’s slogan is: “keep it liberal.”

There are certain bastions of stupidity and delusion in this country where even a Leftist who is total failure can draw a crowd.

And, many if not most Madison Liberals are mad at Obama for not being liberal enough!

Bejing and Moscow are less communist than Madison.

Even during his 2008 Heyday, he still needed star acts to bring out crowds.

The big question is: Were the Raging Grannies there? And were they in support or protesting? If Obama has lost the Raging Grannies he’s agoner!

Here's the 'Troops' Obama should be worried about rallying.

They’d better protest while they still can, ‘cause when Obamacare kicks in, they’ll be the goners.

Just wait until open enrollment for health insurance hits the majority of America. The Dems are going to tank.

Announce FREE at any college or university, no matter what the FREE is, and it’s like you were offering government housing applications in Atlanta.

A friends daughter was there... obama spoke after all the festivities... they would not allow any of the crowd to leave until obama spoke. Many ignored him and partied on.

0bama just campaigned recently for Barney Frank.
Yes, that Barney Frank.
Even he is in serious trouble.
The Democrats are going to be blown out.
Unfortunately there just aren’t enough Democrat Senate seats up to give Republicans a super-majority, or they would be overriding 0bama vetos when they repeal everything he’s done since taking office.

The Soviet Socialist Republic of Madistan is the one place where he could be reasonably sure of drawing a relatively large and relatively friendly crowd.

From Shakespeare’s Henry The Eighth Act 3, scene 2, 350–358
Wolsey:
So farewell—to the little good you bear me.
Farewell? a long farewell to all my greatness!
This is the state of man: to-day he puts forth
The tender leaves of hopes, to-morrow blossoms,
And bears his blushing honors thick upon him;
The third day comes a frost, a killing frost,
And when he thinks, good easy man, full surely
His greatness is a-ripening, nips his root,
And then he falls as I do.
