We just got breaking news out of Austin Texas, where gunshots have been heard coming from a library at the university of Texas. Reports have indicated that someone brought a gun to the Perry-Castañeda Library at the intersection of East 21st Street and Speedway.

But wait! Guns aren’t allowed in campus...
Shooter dead, supposedly by his own hand. No other casualties reported at this time. Police looking for other possible suspect. Campus shut down.

Take your pick.............
Good grief! Always shocking for campus shooting/suicide business. Good grief, I say. More updates?
Thanks for the first link—it’s a good one. My search for “shooting” did not reveal the second link because we posted at the same time.
All’s well that ends well. Sorry someone saw his/her life as so unworthy as to commit suicide, but grateful no others were killed or injured.
As an aside, the Perry-Castañeda Library is well known for its extensive, international free online map collection.
So thankful that it appears no students were hurt. I have a friend there and she was facebooking while locked down.
It will be curious to see if there is a second suspect and what their names are...Yes I am profiling.
I was glad to get a message from my daughter in law that she wasn’t already on campus. Sure tired of these idiots lately. If they want to commit suicide, why not take some pills. At home.
Yes, I’m always interested in the profile of these terrorists, too.

Deborah Hosier, who was dropping off her son minutes before the campus alerts first went out about 8:20 a.m., said she saw a black Chevrolet Suburban park in the area and two figures, one carrying a black case, walk toward the library. The Suburban then drove off, she said.
Can you say “Gladio?”
Thanks for the link. I don’t get the “Gladio,” though.
Concealed Carry Event Coincides With University of Texas Shooting

Update: UT Law has canceled John Lotts talk.
Infowars.com has learned that an open carry event was scheduled on the UT campus today, the scene of a shooting earlier today. From the Students for Liberty website:
On Tuesday, September 28 at 6:00pm, a coalition of student organizations on the University of Texas Austin campus, including the Libertarian Longhorns, the UT Students for Concealed Carry on Campus, the UT Objectivism Society and the UT Federalist Society, will be hosting John Lott, famed defender of gun rights and author of the book More Guns, Less Crime.
Lotts work in More Guns, Less Crime is commonly cited by many liberty-minded people when arguing against gun control laws, and Lott will be sharing some of his expertise in this field to the audience of students and members of the community of Austin.
Austin has been a hot-bed of debate over the potential of state laws being passed that would make it legal for a person to carry a concealed handgun on college campuses.
If you are in the Austin area on the 28th, stop by the UT Law School and hear John Lott discuss the negatives of gun control and the positives of a free society!
The fact that the shooting occurred prior to the talk is, to say the least, highly suspicious.
"Why didn't he duck?"
