Indeed, though I would word it as "before Adam was banished to mortality about 6,000 years old." I would put it that way because I'm not sure how time would have elapsed for him in Paradise/Eden relative to our space/time continuum - but once he was banished to mortality, his calendar and clock was on earth time.
