Hitler at home: Rare photographs show how the Nazi leader relaxed while he waged war
Daily Mail ^ | 25th September 2010

Relaxing with a cup of tea and sharing a joke with a crowd of admiring women - these are the rarely seen intimate portraits of Adolf Hitler at the height of his power.

The snapshots of the dictator were taken between 1936 and 1945 as the Nazi party strengthened its grip on Germany and then waged war against its European neighbours.

In one series of pictures from 1939, Hitler is shown admiring his 50th birthday present - a specially designed convertible VW, which was given to him by Ferdinand Porsche.

He received the glossy black automobile at his Eagle's Nest home in the Alps. The mountain-based chalet was built as a retreat for Hitler and a place for him to entertain visiting dignitaries.

In another set Hitler is seen laughing at a Christmas party in 1941. By this point over 43,000 British civilians had been killed in German bombing raids. The photographs were taken by Hugo Jaeger, who had privileged access to the Fuhrer during those tumultuous years. Jaeger was one of the early adopters of colour photography and created clear, evocative images. Unlike the Nazi leader's main photographer Heinrich Hoffmann, Jaeger took pictures both of both private events and huge propaganda spectacles.

Yes, it’s photoshopped. BigFurHat is a clever Photoshopper.

They also have the photos confirming Hitler's expertise as a graceful juggler.

Girl’s head looks Photoshopped onto her body.

That's what I thought too. It seems too big for the body and the face is much clearer than the rest of the photo!

Several of the photos show him with hands on hips, and one with his arms folded. If body language means ANYTHING, those poses tell ME that Hitler was as queer as a seven dollar bill. Eva Braun to the contrary notwithstanding, I think he was a fag!

Kinda looks like Sarah Silverman’s head shopped on that body.

It was “located”, boxed up and marked on the freight container as a “fire truck”, and shipped to Canada.

It was still there in the 1960’s - no idea where it is now.

That's a spoof photo and shouldn't be included on this thread.

One of the photos included at the link shows Adolph Hitler relaxing on a ship's deck chaise lounge next to one where a blonde woman sits. I found part of its caption interesting because it sounds like something Nancy Pelosi would have cooked up:

Adolf Hitler, wearing an Arbeitsfront cap, aboard the KDF Ship Robert Ley on its maiden voyage with Inge Ley (Robert Ley's wife) in 1939. German workers were offered free cruises through the 'Strength through Joy' scheme.

Well if he was so clever why didn’t he make the head proportional to the body size?

Well, I find the photo's fascinating, especially since they are in color. It reminds me that it really wasn't that long ago.

If yer gonna quote Zappa, I respectfully request you engage the spell checker. “What kind of GURU are you anyway? Don’t you know, you could make more money as a butcher? The price of meat has just gone up and your old lady has just gone down.”

Yup. Photoshopped for sure.

Anyone care to guess what the little bitch would look like at age 70?

To same, to many, he was a “nice guy”, just like our little stalin at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. No difference. The monsters don’t have horns. (Is that, by the way, like something that you said in the censored comment # 1?)
