I can see how some people might see my original post as a hit-and-run trolling post. However, my point was not to start a debate (on this issue at least, I don’t think I could possibly keep up with the flood of responses). My point was simply to try to understand why people, on the other side of the aisle, are against illegal immigration. You hear a lot in the media about the problem of illegal immigration, but you actually hear very little about the why.
See that BOLD and underlined word? What part about ILLEGAL do you NOT understand? If the law says murder is a crime and you kill someone is that not illegal too? As I replied earlier, you must be a real dumbass.
We are a nation of laws, not of letting people come here illegally. If you don't obey the laws, you are also a criminal. Take a look at Mexico's immigration laws. As Calderon, when asked about someone entering their country illegally, he said, "We send back them".
You live in San Francisco. That's your first problem with the reasons for this. No, I'm serious. You're comfortably protected by your local culture and media from what the majority of Americans think, believe and live. Have you ever spent an amount of time (no, I'm not referring to the occasional visit or vacation) in America's Heartland? If you had, you may well find it far different from how the pointy-head elitists view us from their intellectual snuggeries (Holy cow, this backward racist-fascist knows a word like that?). Our difference is we don't base our decisions on our emotions (although we're human so we have them too). We base our decisions on conclusions that stem from fact. It's essentially that which sets us apart. And, all else comes from that.
Which leads me to this: Your joining FR, and the posting of this thread, show an attempt on your own to venture into reasoning based on fact, not emotion. Hopefully, based on what comes of that decision, you may find it a worthwhile venture and something worth repeating. Who knows, you may even one day wake up and see the truth. That would be nice...
