What was your story that brought you here to this site.
I was reading lot of “freedom” promoting sites and ran into the name “Free Republic”. The title said it all and spent time reading and became a member.
Ditto...same here!!!
I went to the March For Justice in Oct. 1998 and met Jim Robinson and so many nice people. I saw Drudge and Ann Coulter and some other people I saw on the news.
We took a tour of Ft. Marcy Park led by a guy who was there about the time Foster's body was dumped. When he heard about it later on the news, he knew that he had been in the thick of it.
That trip was so much fun, thank you Jim, for starting FR!
I saw a link on Townhall.com in October of 2002. Signed up and never looked back. For the first year or so, a lot of people told me I was an idiot, but I learned.
It is an insight. People tend to think all conservatives agree about everything and that they are all brainwashed. A few days here and you discover how laughable that is.
I found a link to Free Republic on the Drudge Report. The Obama administration’s trampling of the Constitution is what fired me up. As my tagline says, I have had the opportunity to see first hand what despotism can do to a country and it’s people. Seeing Obama follow in the footsteps of Daniel Ortega has re-lit the conservative fire in me. I refuse to remain silent any longer. I follow Free Republic because I feel that it is one of the best forums of conservative thought on the internet.
I believe her niece is critically ill..

Clinton scandals and how so many of their associates up and died at young ages. Then came Monica......I was hooked on this site after that.
I stumbled across us when Clinton was raping the Nation...maybe ‘96...’97?
Thank you, JIM!!!!!
The name. Years ago I was reading The Drudge Report (1st time on Drudge) on the breaking news that President Clinton and an intern scandal was brewing. I saw Free Republic on the bottom left of his link list and figured that was my kind of site...so I clicked on it...and the rest is history.
Googled the top conservative sites on the web and found this one to be the best.

TGO would mention it from time to time years ago. I joined in 2005-6, mostly lurked and forgot my ID and password eventually. I found FR to be like no other site on the Internet, very compelling content and commentary! I would continue to lurk on and off until the run-up to health control and I had to register again so that I could properly “vent” without losing my family! Much THANKS to JimRob and all of the FReepers that have kept this place what it has always been!
Wandered here via the Drudge Report. Back in those days his website had a permanent link for Free Republic. Guess we fell out of favor. I don’t remember why.
Back in ‘98, I heard Rush Limbaugh mention it, IIRC.
I had a VISION from above. That’s all I can say.
I either picked it up from R Limbaugh or possibly Paul Weyrich - - was basically fed up with the ‘media’ and their trying to whitewash the Clinton debacle...
For what it is worth, I am probably the longest ‘serving’ FR disciple that has NEVER posted an article.
I was Googling Teamsters and Don Adams in 1997 or 1998.
Was there Google then? Maybe I was Alta Vistaing.
I'm invoking the "Coulter Rule".

Lurked for nearly a year before I registered.
Took me months to gather the courage to post.
I miss the days of unclosed tags leaking over into subsequent posts.
