Or a distraction issue, to try to divert attention from the complete and total disaster his presidency has been, in the run-up to November.
Scouts Out! Cavalry Ho!
Yes. To quote Marge Simpson, I didn’t say you couldn’t, I said you shouldn’t.
Unfortunately, from what I’ve observed, too many people turn their BS filters off while reading, and wind up absorbing, and even agreeing with, ideas that they would have been disgusted by if they were hearing them aloud.
That said, if you are among those who maintain a critical mindset while reading, then by all means, please study the enemy! Just take care that you don’t become them ;)
I read the “Turner Diaries” too. Curiosity go the best of me. At first it wasn’t too bad but it continued to get worse and the last 1/4th of the book was repulsive. They are no better than the animals that flew the planes in the twin towers and pentagon. Savages.
As long as it`s their copy, you got it Patriot.
Google Koran pdf and you can find lots of them to download. 300-400 pages. I was going to a sewage treatment plant tomorrow and didn’t have a Koran. Now I do.
Shoot them, burn them, use them for toilet paper, toss the pages in a sewage sludge thickener. Line your bird cage with them (you won’t be able to read the New York Times, however.
There are lots of uses for them. Just be creative. And take pictures to send to our Mulla American flag stompers.
Burn Terrorists Not Korans
No, I don’t care to argue with you, but if there is even a small chance that an action of mine would enrage a person in Afghanistan who was up to this point non-violent, and that person (or many persons) would react violently and endanger a friend or a relative over there fighting for me...for myself I would not burn a stupid book just to make a point.
... You said it was never right. It is right when you decide to exercise the right.
Really? So Jesus was wrong?
John 8:42Jesus said to them, "If God were your Father, you would love me, for I came from God and now am here. I have not come on my own; but he sent me. 43Why is my language not clear to you? Because you are unable to hear what I say. 44You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father's desire. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies. 45Yet because I tell the truth, you do not believe me! 46Can any of you prove me guilty of sin? If I am telling the truth, why don't you believe me? 47He who belongs to God hears what God says. The reason you do not hear is that you do not belong to God."
You have a right to abortion too. It don't make it moral or ethical.
No, I haven’t read that. I guess I made too general a statement. Merely because it’s a book doesn’t make it sacred does it. ok.
Let me start by saying I completely support our first amendment rights to freedom of expression; they should be able to burn the book just like I support a person’s right to tread our flag into the dirt - something I abhor, but it’s still their right.
That said, this pastor is a low-life. This act doesn’t show the world the true America - the America which says it will embrace all faiths.
This past Friday, our church group met a Shiite Iraqi family of five at the local airport; the State Department has assigned them refugee status due to the guy’s military background in Iraq. Our group has arranged with a refugee organization to “adopt” the family for a year or two, to help them with basic necessities, transportation, etc, until they are able to become self-sustaining.
We will never speak of our religion to them unless they ask; indeed - we want them to see how amazing and open America is...what are they going to think on Sept 11 when they turn on the TV and see people in a nearby state burning their holy book? The very thought pains me greatly.
I refuse to burn any book....I may use them as Shiite paper but that’s for another thread.
Exactly. What’s accomplished by burning a damn Koran? I don’t think it’s right or wrong, it just kind of useless. But burning a terrorist...THERE’S a helpful action!
Agree, having read an English Translation
It was quite “Illuminating” regarding
The thought processes of those who have embraced it...
If someone has bought the book they can do what they want with it. It's their property.
I think you are on to something... also to note, it seems this Dove church isn’t who we think they are.. they are fans of Fred Phelps and his Westboro Baptist nuts.

I had red flags about this early on.
In our society and culture, burning of books never is associated with opposition (like flag burning), its common association is with powers that be hiding knowledge or suppressing information. No one in our culture usually thinks I am going to oppose that religion or enemy so I will burn his books. Instead, book burnings archetypal associations are of 1984 and Fahrenheit 451.
Book burnings and bannings also dont result in rallying enemies, what it does is create a forbidden knowledge that people usually seek out. In other words, for Islam, it would draw people to it to find out what the forbidden knowledge is.. It is almost a publicity stunt.
Maybe Im over-thinking it.. but this is the first thing that ran through my head..
“Pictures of their pedophile leader (piss be upon him) should also be burned IMO.”
I think the correct expression is ‘pig feces be upon him’. Don’t mean to quibble but its better IMO.
