The last time we visited the city, my 10 yo daughter asked, “Where are all the kids? We haven’t seen any kids in the entire city.” That just might be a good thing after all given the way a child would be warped growing up in that freak show of a city.

Don't worry about children in SF. From what I've read, SF is the most childless city in North America - and from what I've read, percentage drops every year. Its simply too expensive to raise children in SF.
