the 52-year-old Snohomish man had moved his .40-caliber handgun from its holster to his back pocket Saturday to see if that position would be more comfortable.

I guess the answer to that question would be no, it's not more comfortable.

Should this fellow wish to continue as an armed American citizen, permit me to suggest that he investigate two (2) recent American inventions,

(1)The Revolver Pistol
(2)The Holster

The revolving pistol is quite ingenious, actually. It's very safe, and most people, even from the Pacific Northwest, find it hard to discharge accidentally.

The "Holster"" thingie is also quite brilliant. It is sort of a stiff leather pocket that attaches to one's person in some way. It holds the pistol mentioned above in a manner designed to mitigate against said person from shooting himself in the ass.

As a well known "modernist," in my hometown, I use both of these new inventions. Although this is not scientific, but merely anecdotal evidence, I have actually never shot myself in the ass. Although, I have put my foot in my mouth occasionally. Working on a a "foot-holster" invention as we speak.

I also note that the fellow who shot himself in the ass is 52 years of age. That means he graduated from High School, if at all, sometime in the 1970s. Frankly, I would be surprised if he can tie his shoes without government assistance, can read and write on the same day, and operate a can opener. I am reasonably sure he can roll a joint, is somewhat deaf from attendance at rock concerts, and is a registered Democrat. FYI, the Democrats recently shot all of us in the ass.
