Here is the description of Gun Owners of America in the Bureau of Justice Assistance (DOJ) document...

“Gun Owners of America (GOA): An extremely radical gun-owning group with close ties to the militia movement. It reputedly has about 100,000 members (as opposed to the millions of NRA members). GOA is headed by Larry Pratt, a strong militia supporter who also has close ties to the white-supremacist movement.”

Hmmm... Likely a questionable and biased description of the group (as I said, I'm not familiar with GOA, although I have contributed to Virginia Citizens Defense League, Second Amendment Foundation, and National Rifle Association). I am a gun rights and knife rights advocate...and I do not intend to ignite a flame war on this thread.

From the introduction to the DOJ document, a description of its purpose...

"Investigating Terrorism and Criminal Extremism—Terms and Concepts is a glossary designed primarily as a tool for criminal justice professionals to enhance their understanding of words relating to extremist terminology, phrases, activities, symbols, organizations, and selected names that they may encounter while conducting criminal investigations or prosecutions of members of extremist organizations."

I consider Holder’s DOJ as being “extremely radical” so I guess we’re even.

Pitcavage is a very far left critter, almost as bad as that other Mark in SPLC, Potok. His academic credentials have been smacked rather ragged, and far as I know he deserves it.

His closest ideological friends, I think, would be Devin Burghart and Leonard Zeskind. You can find them here:

Scary focus.

No Mulsim Brotherhood.

No NAACP.

Pretty stupid list for a country headed by Bill Ayers pal, with an AG who likes FALN.

Well, I just joined GOA to help defend our Constitutional rights. I see them as a no-compromise version of the NRA.

I guess I’m now a radical. Whatever.

President Obama,

Don’t even think of declairing martial law either this November, or the time preceeding the presidential election in 2012. You know that at least 70% of this country (growing daily!) thinks you’re a lying sack of SH*T!

Any form of martial law (shutting down the internet & talk radio, declairing a police state etc.) against the people will be seen as an act of treason! You said you ignored the 9/12 Tea Party Rally last year, and you said you ignored the 8/28 Rally a few days ago! These crowd numbers had to be a sober reminder...even for a dumba$$ like yourself, that you and the ruling class are sorely outnumbered!

We know that as a Marxist, you love chaos. But remember this dumba$$, YOU HAD BETTER BE ABLE TO CONTROL THIS CHAOS!

Trust us, you cannot lock up 200+ million citizens!

Pitcavage used to run the "Militia Watchdog" website, an anti-patriot knockoff of the SPLC which condemned everyone who condemned the Waco Massacre and the shootings at Ruby Ridge, among other abuses of government power.

His meme has made the big time.

BTW, it was interesting to note the "Black Panthers" were NOT listed in their little lexicon.

Everyone at the DoJ needs to be drug tested. Psyche evals concentrating on borderline personality disorders would be good too.

What next? Rubber bullets for the active military? Squirt guns perhaps? Seriously, if Holder had brains, he should be worrying about a military coup at the rate this administration is going. Oh, never mind, perhaps he is.

I’ve been a GOA member for a couple of years now so I guess I’m on the “list”!

A couple of weeks ago, a male nurse that I’ve never seen before, stopped by to check on my mother who is under hospice care in our home. He engaged me in polite conversation before leaving and out of the blue he asked, “where can I meet up with some militia people?” He has since quit that job without notice and left the area from what we understand, but it looks like I’ve been tagged.

GOA is a guns-rights, political organization, as opposed to the NRA, which is largely an educational outfit with some political concerns about guns. GOA, unlike NRA, tips to the right. (NRA tries to remain “bipartisan” by clamoring for any Democrat who doesn’t openly do everything they can to oppose gun ownership.) Founder Larry Pratt is also the founder of English First, which advocates English as the official language. It has 300,000 members, all of whom (unlike NRA) are members because they want to become politically active.

Even Wikipedia has no mud to sling at GOA. My guess is they’re playing eighteen degrees of seperation: GOA = Larry Pratt = English language movement = Immigration reform movement = Minutemen = alleged vigilantes.
