Nixon exposed Alger Hiss as a traitor and the American Left has never been able to forgive Nixon for this. Because it showed them up for the fellow travelers, useful idiots and downright traitors that they are. From that moment on, Nixon had to be disgraced, even if it took them 20 years.

Richard Nixion remains an unheralded hero of the Cold War. Very much an American Patriot.

Truth is such a precious commodity!   Many have died seeing that it be preserved.

When Weather Underground, founded with the help of William Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn, defined the value they placed on lives of their opposition as they sought the most effective ways to kill 25M "diehard capitalist" Americans, one might think that every future American would shun friendship with such people. But no, the current pres__ent even had Ayers write his memoirs.

But of course Ayers has renounced his views, right? No!?!

Connect the dots, America!

Its important to understand what we’re up against.

In January of 1963 congressman A.S. Herlong of Florida read the communist goals for America directly from the American communist manifesto. They are listed here and I think those who haven’t seen them will be astounded at how much trouble America is really in.

I heard Alger Hiss give a lecture at Ohio University in the mid-70's. Of course, this was just after Watergate when Nixon-bashing was at its peak.

Hiss avoided talking about his specific case and instead spoke in generalities about current foreign policy. When asked by a questioner about his case, Hiss went on about how the evidence they got on him was acquired illegally, blah, blah, blah.

Hiss never came out and said "I was framed!", instead, he used lawyerly evasions to defend himself.

I walked away from that lecture convinced that Hiss was guilty of spying as accused.

Nixon: validated by history.
McCarthy: validated by history.
Marx: discredited by history.

Give you one guess who the Left puts their faith in ...

What is forgotten is that had Richard Nixon been rightly elevated to the Presidency in 1960 (after having the election stolen by ‘Rat vote fraud in Illinois and Texas), the entire Cuban Missile Crisis may very well have never taken place.

As it was, the Soviets considered JFK to be a relatively young and inexperienced leader, Khrushchev was looking to throw his weight around, especially after the embarrassment of the 1960 shoot down of Francis Gary Powers U-2 over the Soviet Union, and while that might only be a passing consideration in Nikita’s mind, his gambit in placing nuclear missiles in Cuba, had it been undetected until the missiles were fully operational as a fait accompli’, it would have radically changed the balance of power overnight in favor of Moscow.

The truth of the matter is, we got lucky in 1962, and while we would very likely have won a nuclear contest with the Soviets, the cost would have been enormous to say the least.

If it had been President Richard M. Nixon in the White House in 1960, Khrushchev would have thought twice because he was faced down by Nixon in the famous ‘56 ‘Kitchen Debate’ in Moscow, and Khrushchev knew that Nixon was nobody to eff with.

Nixon had his flaws to be sure, he was not a conservative in the mold of Goldwater or Reagan, but he was an avowed anti-Communist, and his role in our eventual victory in the Cold War was not insignificant.

“and his House Un-American Activities Committee”

House Committee on Un-American Activities.

The Communists branded it “House Un-American Activities” to criticize the investigations (which began in the 1930s) as “Un-American”.

Thanks Michael Zak. Nixon was one of the brainier presidents, so it beats me why he kept that stupid assed taping system.
