I had two until a month ago. Sold my spare to a local guy for $750. which is $300 more that I paid for it new several years ago. I kept the best one, mine has a threaded barrel and is suppressed, I also put a Choate folding stock on it. Still have the original too.

The Judge makes a great “anti-carjacking” gun. One .410 blast to the face will blind the perp and tear up their face pretty bad. I load mine with the .410 in the first two chambers and full house .45Colt in the last three.

I agree. Giving away your position makes you lose any element of suprise you may have depending upon the circumstances of your situation.

If someone is intent on killing you/making sure there are no witnesses, then giving away your location does you no good.

the other poster wrote 4-10 and I thought it was funny.

Usually when asked if someone copy’s on a transmission the reply is 10-4. There are some people who are comedians on the airways and reverse it saying 4-10.

The poster meant to write .410

The state prohibitions against silencers really piss me off. (Somebody was watching way too many spy movies.

The prohibitions are federal as well. It was gangster movies, Alphonse Capone type gangsters plus Bonnie and Clyde type freelancers, that got the federal laws tightly controlling silencers, machine guns, and short barreled shotguns. The real gangsters were using such weapons, but they of course ignored the new laws anyway.

Thanks for your help. It’s not really the mess I am worried about, it was my husband’s objection :) He’s doesn’t want to have to do drywall repair.

Didn’t know shotguns come in semi-automatic. Does one also come short barreled? That would eliminate 2 of his objections.

He’s a great guy... married 30 years. But he doesn’t really want a gun for HD like I do.

I agree with a few posters, a 12-gauge pump shotgun with 18” barrel is the perfect home defense gun

12 inch or so would be even better.. if not for that stupid federal law. You would lose magazine capacity in a standard tubular magazine, but there are some with box type magazines.

“But to skip right over attempts to scare him away WHEN CONDITIONS ALLOW is almost as foolish.”

I prefer to think of it as indicating to the intruder that his best course of action is to LEAVE IMMEDIATELY. I agree this should only be done WHEN CONDITIONS ALLOW. Most of us will not be facing teams of armed assassins or the Manson Family coming for us. 99.999% of the time it will be some sneak thief looking for a thrill and a few bucks, NOT a firefight. What can he possibly gain by starting a gunfight when all the odds are against him?

I think it needs to be said that it is not impossible (depending on where you live) to obtain silencers, more accurately called "suppressors", just expensive. I have suppressors for every metallic round I shoot, from 22LR all the way up to my .338LapuaMagnum, and I am seriously considering buying a .416Barret and a suppressor for it.

Now if it were only, possible to suppress a shotgun, hmmmmm....

Same goes with a taser. A taser is better than nothing for those folks who have made the decision not to have a firearm for home defense.

So the BG enters the house with an illegal/stolen firearm to face grandma with a cane at best.

Kind of wish grandma was allowed to possess a taser.

#1 buck is better. More shot on target with a better cross-sectional area.

The Judge makes a great “anti-carjacking” gun.

yup ... but any kind of carry is illegal here in illinois so i would never have a loaded one in my car
