Obsidian breaks down to one atom at the edge. I have cut myself with and not even known it until the blood starts running some where. I believe it is used today for eye surgery work.

I do woodcarving and sharpen my own knives.
I can but a razor edge on there like no ones business, but Obsidian is much sharper. But it is very delicate.
I have used it as a tool.
