If anybody really, truly wants to see Obama’s original birth records, all they need do is get a subpoena.
Under Hawaii statutes 338-18(b)(9), a certified copy of a birth record can be released without Obama’s permission to:
“A person whose right to inspect or obtain a certified copy of the record is established by an order of a court of competent jurisdiction;”
The best way to get a judge to issue a subpoena is through the criminal side of the court system, not through the civil side. Thus far 71 lawsuits have failed.
Any grand jury investigation of Obama for forgery, fraud or election fraud could have done the trick.
Nixon was forced to resign due to the Watergate Grand Jury investigation naming him as an unindicted co-conspirator. The Whitewater Grand Jury investigation led to the impeachment charges for perjury and obstruction of justice against Bill Clinton. Grand Juries investigating elected officials don’t even need to result in indictments to have major political impact and to force the release of documents and compel reluctant witnesses to testify.
But in the three plus years since Obama first announced his candidacy for president, no one has sought a simple subpoena for his birth records. No guts, no glory.
