I’m surprised the UN is proposing this. If it were in fact a feasible means of survival (and it may well be) then its widespread implementation could cause people to become more, not less, independant.

In the "year of living bibically", the author had a discussion on God's mercy and eating of bugs. Usually, bugs were off the menu. But if the locusts ate all the crops, God let you eat the locusts, because he didn't want you to starve.

Even the fewer majority faith references on the allowance of eating insects have it for extreme survival circumstances only.
