I saw the photo as well and my first reaction also was how old she looked and thought how angry she would be when she saw this photo since she goes to such incredible extremes to look beautiful. But I guess the FLOTUS position is getting a little old and she’s probably weary of sitting for the hairdresser and makeup artist and having clothes fitted everyday...so she let her guard down to become au naturale. I didn’t go into quite the psychological exploration as you but I indeed noticed how old she looked and he appeared younger. I do agree with your assessment.

Sorry, but you can only do so much with that sort of thing...
She only looks decent when someone with a paint brush and some decent clothes sense gets hold of this dame. Otherwise she doesn’t give a rats a** what she looks like. I think it is her way of giving America the third finger salute.
