It's a strange dynamic especially considering the British defamation laws provide much more protection for those being covered by the press than do the defamation laws here. But, you're right - the paparazzi in the UK and Australia are WAY worse than those here in the states. The Royals get savaged by the British media, although most of it is readily deserved.
