Believers worship God, scientists worship equations. With them, equations are everything. Equations predict the future. Equations foretell time travel. Equations are life.

Someone had better tell them that equations are made by man to describe the world, and if they don’t describe the world correctly, the equations are faulty.

Most scientists in the USA are, like myself, people of faith. We work with equations because they DO predict and model reality and are useful.

Many of the great scientists of the past believed they were showing devotion to God by discovering the rules that run HIS universe. But maybe they were just worshiping equations, eh?
