Oh, I’ve got 5, including two pistols. However, I don’t have a license to carry, and I am not sure that I would want to fire my gun in that situation with my dog being present and close as well as being surrounded by houses in the neighborhood.

Minus the whole not having a carry permit part, you’d rather die/be mauled than cause a commotion or scare your pup?

Sounds like you need a permit and some practice, also for close in a Taurus judge with birdshot would fix any attacker and be fairly safe at distance, for your neighbors or whatever

Taurus Judge .410....

or maybe plain ole Bear Spray.... might kill the poor puppies and really get you into trouble...

A walking stick made of 3/4 black iron pipe will work. I smacked a doberman, across the head with a shovel once, when he tried to bite me. Last person he ever tried to bite.

You would be better off with a gun,,,

If you can’t do that a squirt bottle full of ammonia will

keep them off of you,,,

That as well as pepper gas can blow back on you in the
wind,,,

You could try callin’ the cops and your local Animal Control

but they have proven worthless here...

imo, for defense against a pitbul(or any mean dog), best thing is a long thin knife...like a cane sword or a little smaller. A large switchblade stilletto. Plunge straight down between the shoulderblades while it’s biting your dog. No loud noises. No crowds attracted to you. No need to call the cops. The pit will yelp, let go, run away, and die somewhere else approximately a block away. Finish your walk and go home.

You would rather be attacked by a dangerous dog than carry a gun? You really need to re think that. Until you get some practice with your gun you could carry a can of wasp spray and you can blind them when they are still 20 feet away.
