We used to get “Biblical Archaeology Review.” Herschel Shanks is a Noodle, but always a lot of fun. We especially enjoyed comparing to BAR’s take on discoveries to “Archaeology” magazine’s interpretation.
It’s good for everyone, but especially students, to be reminded that “experts” disagree, sometimes to the point of duelling.
Shanks is the only publisher / editor I can think of who actually lets debates go on in the pages of his mag. :’)
