To: Old Student

You mentioning sampling brought back memories of when I bought my first sampler, MIDI controller, and 1/2” eight channel deck and mixer back in 1986. I don’t want to admit how much I spent on it. OK I will it was over 10K. LOL

I came across some old Electronic Musician mags from that time period a few months ago and they are fun bathroom reading. Samples sold off floppy diskettes and the like . . .

All that stuff is dead and gone except for the Boss Effects Pedals That Will Not Die and the Morley AC powered chorus pedal which acts as a dual doorstop and conversation piece.

And I believe the reason it’s all gone is because the new stuff is easier, cheaper, and faster. Even if it is “Made in China.”
