It was really an amazing finish, Coupla lead-out trains clogging things up, tons of riders up front, and I wondered if the main players were going to make it to the front in time.

Cav used everyone’s wheels to climb up to the front after Eisel(sp??) dropped off, truly an amazing performance. Then he drafted on Petacchi, lol.

I think that Thor just got stuck in the crowd for a bit too long, then when it was time to break free he just didn't have the juice to match Cav and the others.

I don't think of Thor as a pure sprinter like Cav and Petacchi, that's all those guys can do. Thor can hang in the mountains to some extent, while the ‘pure’ sprinters are dropping off the back on the first big climb.

Thor just doesn't have the blinding acceleration that Cav has. ‘course, who does?

They just showed that overhead shot again! Thor inexplicably drops off to the bottom of the tv screen and e v e r y b o d y else passed him right up!

I dunno, I think they all should have stopped & waited for him. Harumph!

I liked Phil’s commentating, Cav takes off and it’s “oh forget it”. The dude is just too fast.

OMG, that is well done. 171 riders, Sanchez in 3rd place, somebody did their homework!

And then there's this:

As of Friday morning, French police had no concrete clues as to the identity of the hit-and-run driver. Greg LeMond and Floyd Landis have accounted for their whereabouts at the time of the incident, though police have not yet ruled them out as possible suspects.

Well done!

I dunno, I think they all should have stopped & waited for him. Harumph!

They would have, but Thor yelled 'Hey, my chain fell off!!!' in Norsk, so no one understood him.

Alberto Contador, who was leading the race by eight seconds at the end of the previous stage, will be declared the posthumous winner in a quiet ceremony atop the Col du Tourmalet Monday.

I especially like the part where they say that Greg Lemond and Floyd Landis have accounted for their whereabouts but are still considered possible suspects!!

Oh my gosh! Are you kidding? it’s from July of ‘08! Funny, though! I will happily admit that I go to The Onion every so often to get totally cracked up. Their recent story about the “friend bar” at Apple stores, the perils of exploding trucks falling on rafters in the Grand Canyon and the girl that was raised by Wolf Blitzer are hysterical.

Andy’s off! If he doesn’t blow Alberto out of the water, I pray with all my might he comes within 8 points so he (& Albrto) can get an asterisk next to their final placement in TdF 2010.

To me if Andy is within the time he lost to alberto due to the chain incident he’s the winner...

The Tourmelet showed they are evenly matched and I don’t think their would have much time lost or gained minus the incident.

In any case Andy has gained a lot of respect and fans in my opinion.

They don’t have radio contact with their team staff during TT’s right? I hope neither of these guys knows what the other is doing, that Andy thinks he has to kill himself to come close & Alberto is overcondfident. Please, please, please!

****** S P O I L E R ******

Wind on the course is wreaking havoc! Aargh.

SECOND TIME CHECK @36.2 km:

Andy 46'52"

Alberto 46'46"

Alberto's 14 secs ahead total. UGH!

Sanchez has lost his place on the podium in Paris.

It seems like AC is uncomfortable, you would think that constant seat shifting would be costing him. Maybe it is, the difference could be worse.

Had the same thought. To me it’s a sign he’s pushing...

Win or lose Andy has established himself.

Next year, with Frank along side I see him putting a serious hurt on Alberto.
