When we got to the town there was a pretty little Mennonite Church with the whole brick and glass wall smashed. But, smack dab in the middle stood an American flag untouched.
Like you said, I'll take hurricanes any day.
The mayor of Brownsville has ordered RV’s to voluntarily vacate Andy Buoy and Isla Blanca parks. He said, “We're going to get something.”
Thanks for the ping NN.
I just returned from a job at VeraCruz, Mexico. I think, I’m glad I got out of there.
Sure looks to be a busy season to me.
Hey, jpsb. When are we gonna meet at the NASA 1 Hooter’s?? ;-)
bttt - for all y’all new to the cane threads, NN updates the thread title to reflect upgrades/downgrades.
Ask her to ping you, sometimes the threads should be in breaking but get ... moved.
Thanks, NN!
Thanks for the ping NN. Watching this one...
Do you think that it might be the time to upgrade the thread to Front Page News? It is on my paper’s front page.

I don’t have much confidence in the NWS forecast. It’ll be interesting where this thing goes.
Yikes! Too close for comfort.
Thanks for the local update. With the current forecast track, Brownsville/So. Padre Island will be on the dirty side of the storm, and feeling it a lot.
p.s. Whoever invented speed bumps should be reincarnated as one.
I wonder if you could use your mad skilz to post this as a pix?

My sister in Corpus Christi just called and said if Alex comes in to the northern end of the cone at Cat2 strength, her family will get hit very hard. They live in a mobile home at the edge of CC NAS in Flour Bluff. Depending on the track they may have to evac as far as San Antonio.
