This was probably my favorite Carson bit, when he did Walter Cronkite’s last broadcast the way he probably would have done if he could. Regardless of what you thought of Cronkite, this was pure comedy gold.

Even though I was about 14 at the time, I remember seeing that when it aired. Liked the tickety, tickety, tick and broad in a news room bit. He mentioned Jessica Savitch at the end. I definitely remember the name and the face only slightly. Didn't realize she had died in an auto/drowning accident back in the 80's.
