A little off topic, been watching the tether inspection rov today, my feeds are ok. Anybody know what all those white “strings” in the water are? ... I can’t find an explanation anywhere. For most technology, check out the Oil Drum, boy that’s a sharp bunch of folks over there if you are interested in the science/engineering part of the problem. Hats off to them.

I’ve been spending a huge amount of time over at the Oil Drum...One place I can be sure to really learn some news about what’s really happening to the well and spill without the MSM hype.
I suspect the white stuff is bacterial colonies, eating well with all the hydrocarbons in the water, but I could be wrong.
Oil drum’s got some good people, and also some pretty whacko people. Fortunately, the good people tend to correct the crazy ideas. Unfortunately, people often post the crazy ideas here.
