Not true, for some reason they don’t know who Cleopatra’s mother was. She had a half sister whose mother was Ethiopian.

The problem is people saw Cleopatra and none of them described her a Black or even resembling Black people.

BTW, Ethiopia back then was not the same as now and even now they don’t claim to be Black.

The fact is that Cleopatra was not Black period.

There were some pharaohs in much older dynasties whose portraiture (and the histories / archaeology) indicates they were at least partly Nubian and therefore "black" in the sense of skin color. The pharaohs married the daughter of the previous pharaoh to keep the blood lines going (matrilineal descent). If you were the son of Pharaoh marrying a sister (not necessarily from the same mother) was the way to succeed Dad.

But the point is there's a major racial divide between the people in North Africa vs. Central and Sub Saharan Africa. I've been to Cairo and on the streets you will see faces that are not really Arab, and certainly not "black", but look, especially around the eyes, like they walked right off of a tomb wall painting.

The people who are objecting to someone as beautiful (and "exotic" looking) as Angelina Jolie playing the role of Cleopatra because they think all "Africans" look like them (most American blacks are partly white and their African appearance is that of West Africa, i.e. Nigeria, Ghana, etc.) are incredibly ignorant and as racist as the biggest loon the KKK ever produced.

Modern political correctness garbage. Her sister wasn't half Ethiopian nor was she. Their mother was Cleopatra V so she is known and she belonged to the Ptolemiac bloodline as white as her sister and Cleopatra. This Dynasty didn't interix outside their own kind, they inbred to preserve their royal bloodline. This mixed theory is a modern creation to make a certain group of people with an inferiority complex feel better.
