DiCaprio is a good actor, but they cast him in absurd roles. Scorcese especially. I'm missing the part where he convinces me he's some fearsome badass.

Gangs of New York for example. Daniel Day Lewis can put some fear into you in a role. DiCaprio is like a chick with a little knife.

Outside of Hollywood, there's nobody who wouldn't smack him upside the head if he ever so much as spoke loudly to them.

Don’t think he was supposed to be a badass in Gangs of New York, but it has been a while since I have seen it. Really he hasn’t played any roles like Daniel Day-Lewis such as Bill the Butcher or Daniel Plainview. Probably wisely. What roles are you thinking of where he is supposed to strike fear into everyone?
