IL-10 administration reduces PGE-2 levels and promotes CR3-mediated clearance of Escherichia coli K1 by phagocytes in meningitis.

interleukin (IL)-10

They have, "bacteria producing recombinant interleukin 10," not unlike recombinant insulin made from E. coli for diabetics. IL-10 might be good for other bacterial infections besides those caused by E. coli in meningitis.
