Scythian - Since Dec 29, 1998
I've given my opus a few times but always came a crawlin' back. I figure if they go by "join date" we old timers will go first ...
So any active Freepers out there have joined dates more ancient than mine?

Well, I’m impressed that there are so many who have been posting for more than a decade (or as one Freeper said) before the turn of the century. Impressive. Maybe Jim Rob will give us those Historical Plates ... ;)

No gas, No electricity...who says conservatives aren't green?
It's good to see lots of freepers still here from the last century, even though they are prolly too old to drive. :-). (DUCKING NOW!)
Everyone mentions how they lurked to get an earlier date but it is so true. In the Clinton era when we were lurking at work with the Reno criminality, those of us working for his impeachment were very aware of abuses of Federal power and how the Federal forces could be used for clamping down on people.
I had a copy of the Paula Jones lawsuit the week it was filed. I had been following Clinton’s Whitewater problems since I did some business in NW Arkansas in the 90s. I was a real cautious person in those days and started following the events over the internet in 97 and 98 and found FR from that first Whitewater link on Drudge when Drudge was fairly new. Lurked from Febraury or March of ‘98 but by early ‘99 was a regular on an internet chat room in the evenings with Yellow Rose of Texas, amom, Towanda, RAH, Two_Thirds_Vote_Aye and some others. They finally got me to register and figure out a work around for my office firewall in May of ‘99. So by the time I started posting I was already steeped in the FR lore and history.
Many have changed their screen names and gotten new dates due to that process not always keeping the same date as well. It seems like there are a lot of old timers showing up on threads in the last month — indicative of the pregnant moment many are feeling.
Of course I remember your screen name from that era but there still are those that I have kept up with for the full dozen years.

Very rare to have an original freeper date pre 1998 Republican primaries...when I was first, second, and third time banned ;) Thanks JimRob for reinstating ;)
I don’t blame you.
LOL, I don’t remember that one, but I do remember the “Testing” thread. I laughed so hard that night the tears were streming down my face. I couldn’t get over the humor of some of the very serious people around here. Do you remember who it was who started that, was it Basil? Several people have tried to start that again using the same premise, but it was never the same.
Pre-millinium Freepers mind you ;)
April 6, 2001. I’m a comparative newbe.
Wow that makes you the oldest so far.
Nah, he's a newbie. :=)
LOL. A+Bert....... What a trip.
Yep. That's how I found FR -- the Whitewater link from Drudge.

Remember (trying not to) Eschoir?
Shudder....heartburn, even a decade later.
I could swear that sonofabitch followed Connie Hair to Arkansas when we were scouting for the 2000 Freeper convention in Hot Springs.
n00b!

Sign up date of 11/28/97, but have actually been here since 1996, before registration was required. Used to post comments back in the day, but now the sheer volume of users has effectively rendered me mute.
