HUH? I NEVER forgot my children - in a car or anywhere else. I won’t leave my dog in the car in the hot sun either.
The man should go to jail for this - he’s just lucky it won’t be for a murder charge.

My Mom forgot me regularly. I realize now that she must have been very stressed and in menopause. Also, I used to know somebody who assumed that any dog in a car was going to die regardless of the temperature. Some people over react. I'm not saying that's the case here, but I knew a paranoid employee where I worked who swore a drunk boater was trying to kill him. The boater went to prison and I overheard the paranoid employee say that later maybe the guy just didnt see him in his tiny kayak. Man, that's some mistake to make. (The boater had other DUI arrests, but still...)

No, he should not go to jail. Your response has me guessing if you are male or female.

If you have never forgotten a child, you are in the minority.
Myself I have five children. I forgot that I was in custody of two, once each.
If you, nor your siblings, nor your children, have never been forgotten anywhere, what can I say? You are rare.
I assume virtually every poster here on FR was left somewhere in one way or another. Myself I was left in a bookstore as a child, once.
People are not machines, and the care of a helpless person 24/7 is an insanely demanding job. Few do it perfectly. Thankfully, most of us get a pass, thank God.
