As a personal anecdote, a few years ago while in Central Park, I saw Abe Vigoda quietly amble in and sit on a park bench ... I thought about going over, sit next to him, and say “I always thought it would be Clemenza”, but I didn’t have the nerve to do it. Oh well, would’ve been kinda amusing anyway :) He probably gets that sort of thing all the time and would have a laugh about it too
LOL! I’d have done it in a minute. Vigoda has a sense of humor, from what I understand. Either he’s heard it a million times- or he’d have thrown back his head for a good laugh.
If he took it badly, I’d say, “I always liked you; it was only business” and walked off.
I’ve heard that Robert Duvall lives not far from where I am. If I run into him- I’ve thought about saying “By the way, I admire your pictures very much.”
