Thank-you. It’s clear to anyone the Japanese veer sharply starboard to smash the little vessel, then instead of coming to their aid, attempt to knock off the survivors with their high powered water cannons.
But Paul Watson is still fat! (s/)

The ‘little vessel’ is obviously captained by an idiot.

Right before the impact, you can see prop wash behind the Ady Gil—meaning that they inexplicably hit the gas right before impact.

You can also see the Japanese vessel was going to miss the little boat, but then you see prop wash come from the little boat as it accelerates straight into the Japanese vessel.

Personal opinion, the video I linked is hilarious and just reward for sheer stupidity.

I agree. No question. I don’t know if the rest of you are watching the video upside down or what. It is clear the Japanese ship ran them over. They may have just meant to come close and scare them, but they almost killed the crew.

Bzzt! fail. Large ships turn at the stern. Not the bow. If a small boat directly under the bow of a large vessel is struck, it either manouvered there, or was swept there by wave action. Either way, it placed itself in danger.
