I need local input from California!
Help!
I’m drowning on this one!
And Meg Whitman appears to be capable of saying anything to anybody to win the nomination. She was a big giver to dem candidates and reportedly stumped for Barbara Boxer. Her war chest is large & she appears willing to by the nomination ala Arnold.
Experience = Whitman
Poizner supported Al Gore
My primary rationale is that Mrs. Whitman (or is it Miz?) has a chance of beating Jerry Moon-Beam in the Gubernatorial race. I see Poznier as having Zero chance...
by=buy
Neither is a good choice.
Guess I’ll be writing somebody else in.
“Poizner, although I must admit I don’t know alot about him. Tom McClintock, whom I respect, endorses him.”
McClintock is great, and he made a mistake.
Poizner wants to eliminate Prop. 13 requirement for a 2/3 ote to raise taxes.
That 2/3 vote is what stopped even worse budget busting, than the dem legislature has done of late.
Whitman vows to fight for this 2/3 vote.
That’s my problem!
Tom backs him but is he right on this one?
Yeah, touching prop 13 is a deal-breaker for me.
What experience?
She doesn’t have any.
She doesn’t even respect the Constitution enough to do her civic duty as a citizen and vote in elections, so she will NOT uphold it as an elected official.
Since she never voted her understanding of civic responsibility is very low, and her understanding of how a constitutional government works is zero.
California is in the trash can because the republican party wants to put up ‘businessmen’ as candidates. Well, ‘businessmen’ use illegal alien labor, and they override constitutional controls when they act as a president of a company instead of an elected official working within the bounds of a constitution.
No Meg Whitman is NOT good for California as an elected official. If she was serious, maybe she should run for school board or county supervisor first.
I don’t like Whitman but better her than Jerry Brown.
I remember when he was gov. in the early 1970s, a total loon.
Hell, I remember when his father Pat Brown was Gov.
What a disaster.
Poizners website says that he backs Prop 13 100%
I don’t know enough of his history!
I, too, am torn on who to vote for in this particular race.
I will say, that after reading the propositions, I believe they should all be voted down. They’re sort of interesting this election. They all seem sort of innocuous, but if you read them, and read who financed them, and think logically about them, they’re junk.
Also, I’m voting for DeVore. And the judges, whom I know nothing about, I’m leaving blank.
Don’t forget, if you’re not sure or don’t know, LEAVE IT BLANK!
1. He is supported by Tom McClintock. McClintock is the one who should be running for governor. Someday when he gets more notoriety and California is in even more desparate shape he will run and get elected. For now we have to settle for Poindexter.
2. Poizner has made illegal immigration his main concern. He may have flip-flopped in the past, but he is painting himself into a corner and will most likely have to act on his campaign slogans.
The only downsides to Poizner is that he really isn't all that conservative, but neither is Meg. Also, he didn't always prostrate himself in front of Jarvis and Prop 13.
Prop 13 might have started out as a good idea, but the Democrats have so twisted the tax code at the state and local levels that Prop 13 is now doing almost the exact opposite of what was intended: it is not lowering the overall tax burden of Californians, and it is just making the tax code more complex and favorable to special interests.
Also, Neocondoleeza Rice and Mitt "Romneycare" Romney just came out in favor of Meg. When Charlie Crist announces his support is anybody's guess.
The only reason to vote for Meg in my mind is if you are so afraid of another Moonbeam governorship and you believe that enough women will vote for Meg just cuz she's a woman that it will turn the tide in the Pubbies favor.
I'm almost hoping that Brown wins, inherits a complete disaster, and is forced to face reality or else get recalled and replaced by McClintock ... or even Mary Carey!
Problem is, she says different things depending upon which group she's addressing. That along with her tendency to support liberal dems in the past doesn't bode well with how she behave in office.
This state is circling the bowl already. Any governor not willing to take drastic conservative measures at this point is simply making themselves the fall guy.
They’re both RINOs. I’m sorry.
