REST IN PEACE, FALLEN BROTHER!

2nd Lt. Michael E. McGahan, USA, KIA Afghanistan 6JUN2010
I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. 2 Timothy 4:7 (KJV)
God Of Our Fathers

Rest in Peace, fallen brother, rest in peace! We who remain hold you in high honor. Rest, fallen brother, in this sacred precinct; We who remain keep this place sacred. Rest, fallen brother, among these, your comrades; We who remain keep the watch. Rest, fallen brother, among these who answered the Nations call; We who remain press the fight forward in your name. Rest, fallen brother, lay down thy burden; We who remain have taken up the torch. Rest in Peace, fallen brother, rest in eternal peace!

I remembered your Barn Swallows and thought of you when I first saw them, (((Kitty)))
Thank you, Dear Meg, Hugs! It was So Neat having the Barn Swallows Nesting on the Porch; Every Time a Squirrel or Another Bird would Get too Close to the Nest, the Swallows would Run them Off, Lol; their Antics were So Cute! The Baby Swallows were Adorable.
I Love your Post #789; that Pic is Sweet, and the Flowers you Described in your Post Sound So Beautiful; there were Mexican Hats just about to Bloom Here in the Pasture, but my Neighbor Made Hay out of them for his Cows. There are Others Ready to Bloom a Little Further Down the Hill where he doesn't Gather Hay, so I'm Looking Forward to Enjoying those.
My House is Surrounded on 3 Sides by Black-Eyed Susans, and they are So Pretty. There was a Lovely Huge Clump of Some Kind of Clover with Large Pink Flower Spikes on them, but they have Finished Blooming.

I really looked for the name of that orchid spike!
The flower beds at the house are rocklike and need a lot of work for any regular flowers to grow..My daughter had rather work on that than unpacking boxes I know.
The wild flowers are mixed in with tall grasses and weeds...but I still got a good look.
A neighbor warned my SIL that he spied a couple of rattlesnakes in the grasses so I did not venture in too far..LOL

LOL...trying to be funny tonight, huh? Doing quite good at it, too!
Loved your rain poem. I always think when we get a nice gentle rain, that God wants us to quieten down and take it easy like the rain! Soft rains are very soothing when sitting out on the patio! Smells good and clean too!

There are Very Delicate Blue/Purple Colored Spiked Flower that Grow Here; Fragile and Wispy, but Beautiful. When I Lived in the Metroplex, there were Pinkish/Purplish Spikes that Grew there, called Blazing Stars, if I Remember Correctly. I Love the Wildflowers of Spring; there are still a Few Indian Paint Brushes Here; the Most Spectacular Flowers were Small Yellow Daisies, because Several Acres were Blanketed with them. Our Lord's Creations are Awesome!
We don't have Rattlesnakes in this Area. (Thank Goodness, Lol; the Big Black Snakes I've Come Face to Face with a Few Times have been Enough, Lol!)
