I feel ripped off. It’s the modern day version of Bobby coming out of the shower. Woops, bad dream. Or, woops, we were all dead anyway. Hated it.

My 2 cents. Overall a good ending, but far too many commercials breaking up the story flow.

Those fans most interested in the character relationships are very happy with the ending as it gave them happy closure.

Those fans most interested with the mysteries/mythology of the series will be somewhat disappointed as many important questions (the numbers, lack of fertility, MIB and Jacob’s real identities, the Dharma initiative sponsors from MI, etc.) have been left unresolved.

I loved the ending. Lots to think about. And anybody who thinks the whole thing was purgatory completely missed the point.

The alternate timeline was sort of like purgatory, but probably more buddhisty than Christian. They all sort of reached their happy ending there before moving on.

But everything that happened on the island was real and really happened.

I was hoping for some explanation of what the hell the island was, who put it there, who was that lady who killed Jacob's mom and raised them, where was the smoke monster trying to get to, etc. But they went with a sort of "it just is" on all of that.

The church scene was a bit hokey, but it was for the chicks in the audience.

Now comes the spin-off series. With Miles, Richard, Lapidus, Kate, crazy Clair and Sawyer living in LA with Aaron and the Sun/Jin baby, with nine-foot tall Walt playing for the Lakers. Hurley, Ben, Rose and Bernard still on the island, looking for a new smoke monster.

And whatever became of Faraday? And that creepy mother of his who killed him? Where the hell is she going?

One more season!

I had grown more and more frustrated this season...

But the ending was beautiful. It made all my frustrations with not understanding every little detail superfluous.

But that’s kind of the point :]

I loved this show from the pilot. I never missed an episode since. Every season was grand and enjoyable. Until ... the last 2 seasons were torture. But I kept watching, knowing it was going to end and hoping for a satisfying resolution. I can't say I loved the series finale but I must say it is much, much better that any series finale I have ever seen. Every character was given a redemption and resolution. For some reason I always thought it would come to that. So sad. (sniff)

I am really going to miss Jack and Kate and Hurly and ...

Si Fi channel has a great compilation of fan-made Lost videos to help us get past the ending of a great show. Almost all are very well done (I would skip the “What” one), but the smoke monster tribute IMHO is exceptional. But hey, I always liked him anyway, best star of the show, ha ha ha.
