Ann, I watched last night. Miss Oklahoma by far made the most stunning impression from the very start, which she topped off with her awesome, intelligent response to the dumb question re illegals and Arizona.
I could see that Miss Michigan was Arab and assumed she must not be mooselim, parading around in nearly nothing. She was born in Lebanon, reportedly attended Catholic school and yet enthusiastically supports govt funded healthcare paying for contraceptives. A lot of elements of her story do not fit together.
She could have been practicing taqiyya.
We all laughed when Obama said we were no longer a Christian Country, he may be more right than we realise.
I think Obama is perfectly right ... on that count. We are not a nation operating upon a Christian foundation any longer.
Now, where the liberals "extend this" type of thinking is that they say we never were -- but -- we were founded on a Christian foundation and basis in this country. It's just that we've abandoned it, quite a while back and are no longer operating in this country on that basis.

Enough about this paegant. This must be the 1,000 thread on the subject (I admit I open them to look at the pictures). But really the hype and hand wringing over this is rediculous. Does anyone really care who wins this stupid contest? Can anyone name a winner since Vanessa Williams? How many people actually watched the show, 1 or 2 million? Yet somehow this girl winning is some huge Muslim plot to win over the US. It will have no more effect on anyone than the Keith Olberman or Rachel Maddow shows.
