Did nobody see this coming? Yes and no. The French thought there was going to be a German invasion, but not where it actually was. As posted earlier, here is their intelligence map for April 27. As you can see, they were not really sure where the Germans had their troops, but suspected an attack north of the Ardennes. The French had their "Dyle Plan" all ready to meet it. In a few days, I'll post more British and French intelligence maps. You will be able to see how realization dawned on them just how badly they'd blown the campaign.
