I also pass on the altered OJ. It’s amazing how many things they’ll add to a perfectly good natural food. The choice of “no pulp, lots of pulp, normal pulp” seems a bit silly too. Add that to the other choices and it’s just too much. Just give me my OJ already!
: )
OJ is a killer. Avoid OJ at all cost.
Drinking a glass of OJ is like eating 4 to 5 oranges for us.
Next to impossible to do for about half the year in Minnesota.
And before you ask, I used to live in Phoenix. I *prefer* the tundra. :-)
Cheers!
I see it as food tampering. Calcium isn't even natural to oranges (as far as I know). So why the h--- are they adding calcium to orange juice? And what about no pulp, some pulp, lotsa pulp? It's ridiculous.
And since I'm here, what's with sugar-free Snapple? I can't even find a bottle of regular Snapple with sugar anymore. It's been replaced by Diet in both the small and large sizes. The non-sugar freaks ruin it for the rest of us!
Adding the URL for the abstract was nice.
I don’t know about vitamin D, but OJ cuts to the bone.
Where do you get it if you don't own a cow?
Orange Juice first is excellent for you. The potassium from OJ is terrific, also you get magnesium but less than pottasium, don’t fear the natural sugar, it’s God’s sugar. If you want to get Vitamin D get out in the Sun. Direct sunlight, unlight what you have been taught is “GOOD” for you. It was putting on sunblock that block UVB’s (which are used to create Vitamin D) and let in UVA’s (which cause skin cancer) are what caused all the skin cancer. Or put another way, the medical community really screwed and caused untold damage by giving the worse advice they could to all of America.
If you really want to supplement I suggest Carlson’s fish oil Vitamin D, they have 400 or 2000IU and I take them sometimes. But I try to get 1 hour of direct sunglight on my skin with no sunblock.
They do make sunblocks now, in case most newer ones do (with the last two years only) that block both UVB’s and UVA’s.
Fine if you live in Florida, but not so practical in the North.
Which one is that? I just discovered Jim Beam Black.
