Mormons are people. People are not perfect. Agreeing to “serve” does not necessarily mean that the follow trough will be any more perfect than the person serving.
Each of the girls had a choice: to agree to serve and honor the agreement, or agree to choose and dishonor the agreement. Religion specifics have nothing to do with it. I’m sure none of them said, “She’s Catholic, so we’ll let her do the work.”
Most likely, they are irresponsible in all aspects of their lives. Thank your daughter for me for being true to her word. We need more people like her in the world.
She was pretty hacked off when she came home with sore feet and no dinner because she didn't have time to eat anything. She said the little chamber group they had playing was good though.
But yesterday afternoon we had an invigorating 6 mile hike with a doggy friend -- us, her and four dogs (two of hers, two of ours). And daughter's feet didn't hurt because she had her good hiking boots and Thorlo socks instead of her good Sunday shoes . . . . and the dogs had a splendid time because there was Lots of Water and Mud and at the end of the hike a quarry with a Large Deep Pool. The trail basically wound back and forth across a creek that ran out of the quarry. You could see my young Black Lab's nose go up every time she scented water, then you saw a disappearing Lab stern with frantically wagging tail, then you heard a BIG SPLASH. It was pretty funny when she launched off the quarry wall -- enormous splash and she went completely underwater. It didn't seem to faze her a bit.
