Note: this topic is from 05/04/2010. Thanks Daffynition. I've heard tell that, in rural Canada, bridges are generally built upstream of beaver dams, even if the road route has to be changed. This is due to beavers living for generations on the same site, and actively maintaining the water level regardless of conditions.
