I am strongly supporting a group called Americans for Tax Reform.

The dominant issue in 2011 will be whether to lower the deficit by raising taxes or cutting spending or a hybrid. Any increase in taxes will lock in the higher spending levels of the Obama presidency and will bring us that much closer to socialism. When Obama took office, he raised government spending from 30% of GDP to 40% (once health care is fully implemented). He borrowed the money. Now, we will either roll back that spending or raise the taxes enough to make it permanent.

Americans for Tax Reform (ATR) has developed a no-tax pledge and is asking every candidate for any office to sign it. At my web site, DickMorris.com, I link to this list. Before you vote in your Republican primary, please check it out and make sure you only back candidates who take the pledge!

But we need to keep the ATR strong and growing. We need to feed this particular watch dog because we will need its bark and its growl and its bite desperately as this election season unfolds.

I want to urge you to donate to Americans for Tax Reform with a financial gift of $25, $50, $75, $100 or more! In the coming deficit war, it will be ATR that will man the frontline in urging House and Senate Republicans to stand firm in opposing higher taxes.
