Most underappreciated artist we'll have in our lifetime.
Sarcasm?
Born April 22, belated Happy Birthday to Glen Campbell.
Here's a clip from the late '60s, nice performance:
No...What would lead you to the thought that my post was based in sarcasm? Just curious. I just wanted a lot of people to see a great video I found of a great entertainer. Is that ok?
Jimmy Webb who wrote the song? Just kidding - beautiful song.
So weird I was thinking about this song yesterday. One of the greatest love songs ever.
I certainly hope you picked up Glen’s most recent album, “Meet Glen Campbell” — it’s excellent.
I liked him in the movie below.

How can anyone say Glenn Campbell is underappreciated? He was a Beach Boy. He had his own television show. He had top 10 hits.
Glen Campbell may have had ups and downs in his personal life, but as an artist he is an American treasure. His music will stand the test of time, he and Jimmy Webb will go down as one of the top singer/songwriter duos ever.
Great to see that Jools Holland (BBC show presenter and also keyboard player for the band Squeeze) appreciates Glen and this song.
A beautifully written song that came to life with Glen’s talent.
“By the time I get to Phoenix - McCain will be losing the primary”
“He’ll cry and say he was just a Maverick and not a RINO”
“But he stabbed us in the back a million times before>”
One. Sexy. Beast.
Haven’t heard that in a long time, thanks.
Its in my cd player in my car as we speak. He should have won grammy’s for that cd, but he isn’t “hip” enough apparently.
He was also in “True Grit” with The Duke. Plus Robert Duvall and Dennis Hopper as bad guys.
Here! Here! Jimmy Webb! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mUg5p3BncuQ&feature=related
I have the single. Bought a GC greatest hits about a month ago for 4.99. Done. Thanks.
What, you haven’t had a bad day?
Hey, Hoss, that looks like a glamour shot compared to me.
