The phrase “natural born citizen” was specifically demanded in the requirement for President by George Washington evidently at the suggestion of John Jay. What it meant to those august men was that both parents, at the time of birth, had to be citizens of this country. That the any President must have a natural whole allegiance from birth to this country.

Vattel and Blackstone say what they say, but the sad fact is that today's federal courts don't always care as much as we do about the intent of the founders or their understanding of the terms they used. The Constitution has been shaped and bent like a putty nose by creative interpretation. I'm not confident that this wouldn't turn out to be a case like that.

I think that in the long run it will be much more productive to focus on Obama's secrecy involving records of his life, including the birth certificate, financial aid applications, travel and passport records, and more. He is hiding something. The Arizona law will be a great way to smoke him out. He can't just pass on being a candidate in any state.

Hey, take a pill. I’ve never demeaned the birthers, I support their efforts...so asking if I celebrate and bathe in ignorance was uncalled for. It just stands to reason that if all that was needed to prove his ineligibility was his parents citizenship status, it would be case closed and there wouldn’t be a need for a birther movement to see his records. How is that logic wrong?
