jokull means glacier. for jokull think local jokull to get that word.

break the word down to try to get the hang of it. Try this

Eyja fjatla jokull.

If we did it like the Icelanders we would not say, for example, Rocky Mountains we would say Rockymountains.

To me it sounded like A-va-loav-k.

Spelling classes must be really hard if you have Icelandic as your second language.
